It covers advanced English for following lectures in Indian institutions and basic conversational Hindi for daily life in India. Joining is voluntary; the IELTS/TOEFL certificate is still required. • Starts: 19 October 2026 • Classes: 36 in total (12 weeks), three times a week, 90 minutes each • Time slots: 12:30–14:00 IST (Mon/Wed/Fri) or 23:30–01:00 IST (Tue/Thu/Sat) • Who can enrol: any foreign national with basic English (read, write, speak) • Course fee: US$ 50 • Queries: Gurpreet Kaur, +91 70426 78708, gurpreetkaur@routes2roots.com • Registration: follow the instructions in the official notice linked below Our advice: if you plan to apply for ICCR in the 2027-28 cycle, book your IELTS or TOEFL early so your score report is ready before the A2A portal opens.

How we source and check these updates

Most entries summarise notices published by official bodies: the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the ICCR A2A portal, the Study in India portal and the application portals those notices name. We read the original, write a short summary, and link the source document wherever one is available. Entries that list Prajeet the Creator as the source are our own posts, such as news of new practice sets or pointers to an official schedule, rather than official notices.

When a notice changes, for example when a deadline is extended, we add a new entry instead of quietly rewriting the old one, so you can see what changed and when. Pinned cards are the ones we think most students need right now. If you find an error or a broken link, please tell us through the contact page so we can review it.

How to read an official notice

Official notices are dense, and the details that matter most are easy to skim past. Work through every notice in this order:

  1. Who issued it: check the letterhead and the issuing office, for example the Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
  2. Which scheme and session it covers: make sure it refers to the current academic session and not last year's cycle.
  3. Eligibility: the age reference date, minimum marks, subject requirements, and whether candidates awaiting results may apply.
  4. Key dates: opening date, last date, exam dates, and any separate deadline for documents or fee payment.
  5. How to apply and pay: online or on paper, how many sets of documents, and the exact bank and account for any fee.
  6. Conditions after selection: rules on changing course or institution, withdrawing, and repaying costs.
  7. Contact details: the official email address or helpline for queries, which you should use rather than any number shared on social media.

Tip: Save a copy of every notice that applies to you. Web pages get updated, and having the version you relied on makes any later question much easier to settle.

Spotting fake notices and agents

Scholarship seasons attract scams: forged notices, fake result lists, and people who claim they can guarantee selection for a fee. Official schemes do not sell places. The Embassy's own notices state that applications through consultants, agents or middlemen are liable to be rejected, and fees go only to the bank account printed in the notice. Treat any of the following as a warning sign:

  • Anyone asking for money to guarantee a scholarship, a seat or a better rank
  • Payment requested to a personal bank account, a mobile wallet or an individual rather than the account named in the notice
  • Requests for your portal password, or for a one-time password sent to your phone or email
  • Notices that circulate only as screenshots, with no matching document on the official website
  • Spelling mistakes, odd logos, or dates and amounts that differ from the official notice
  • Pressure to decide or pay within hours

Tip: When in doubt, type the official address into your browser yourself instead of following a forwarded link, and check whether the same notice appears there.

Official websites worth bookmarking

These are the official addresses used in the notices we summarise. Save them and visit them directly rather than trusting links passed around in groups.

  • indembkathmandu.gov.in: the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, which publishes COMPEX, SAARC, HJBSS, MGSS, GJSS and other Embassy notices, including the current application link for each scheme
  • a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in: the ICCR A2A portal for ICCR scholarship applications
  • studyinindia.gov.in: Study in India registration, SII IDs and admissions
  • indianvisaonline.gov.in: the Indian visa portal, for students who need a student visa

A summary, never a substitute

We are an independent site and are not connected to the Embassy of India, ICCR or any government body. Our summaries exist to help you notice announcements quickly and understand them, but only the original notice counts. If our summary and the notice ever differ, follow the notice. Check your registered email regularly too, including the spam folder, because results and instructions are often sent directly to applicants.
